Coronavirus in West and Central Africa (COVID-19)

Key information and resources about the virus to protect you and your loved ones

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is on everyone's mind. With the virus' recent arrival in the West and Central African region, you may be wondering how to best keep your and your loved ones safe. This quest for information on COVID-19 has been tainted by the rise in false information across the region and far beyond. To best protect yourself, your family, and prevent spreading coronavirus, it is important that you have accurate information at your disposal from reliable sources. UNICEF is working with the World Health Organization and health experts in West and Central Africa to provide them.

Remember, misinformation during a pandemic leaves people unprotected and at risk and makes way for panic, which often leads to stigmatization. This page will frequently be updated with guidance, helpful resources and stories of preparedness and response from West and Central African countries, so please check back regularly and share it with others around you.
